It's that time...

Submitted the rank list tonight...now we wait 3 weeks to find out our residency match. Anxiety and nervousness doesn't even begin to describe the feelings right now....

On a great note...Las Vegas was AMAZING! My group of friends and I had the best time! So many great memories and moments! There were 6 of us from medical school and I realized this weekend how much they mean to me! We've always been close but this weekend solidified it. We shared a ton with each other and I feel like we bonded so much. We are all going through the same thing with the match and 2 of us are getting married in the next 2 months. There are many things to look forward to in the upcoming months and I get to do it with these great girls! Can't wait!

The Olympics have totally captured my attention every night. Therefore I am exhausted every morning since they do not end until midnight. Even events that would seemingly not hold my interest I find myself watching and rooting for the USA! It's the best form of reality TV out there and the stories about the competitors and their dedication is unparalleled! So glad to get an Olympic fix every 2 years....the winter games have been exciting but I love the summer games! Swimming and track are my favorites!

Shout out to Danny...he is running the 60, 200 and part of the 4x400 relay team at the Southern Conference championships this weekend. He is running awesome as a freshman and putting up some impressive numbers! Good luck Dano....love you!

Viva Las Vegas!

Leaving for Vegas tomorrow and I am so excited! One of my great friends from med school is having a joint bachelor/bachelorette party out there and it is going to be a reunion of all of my best med school girl friends! We rented a huge house about 2 miles off the strip and we can't wait to get there! I'm most excited about getting out of this 30 degree weather and see the sun again!

Poor Zach has to spend the weekend on call but at least he wont' be bored :/

Before my flight tomorrow I am going for a second look at on the programs that I interviewed at here in Baltimore. And then when I get home Sunday night we are submitting our rank list and wiping our hands of the process!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Valentine's Weekend

We had a really nice, relaxing Vday weekend here in Baltimore...first off IT DIDN"T SNOW! We are still recovering from the 50 inches we got in 5 days!!! Zach had to work Friday night so I spent it catching up on my DVR'd shows that he refuses to watch....Biggest Loser, The Bachelor, Gulianna and Bill and Keeping Up with the Kardashians...trash I know, but I love them! And as much as I miss Zach when he is on call....I love the peaceful nights with just Mosley and I and trash TV!

This year we decided not to do presents because of the wedding and wanting to save money for Italy but I still wanted to do something small, so I went to Target Friday after work and picked up a card and some small things to put in a gift bag. On Saturday I got an email from our apartment building saying that we had a package. I assumed it was my mom's Valentine's day package but low and behold it was this vase of beautiful flowers!!! And he got them in purple
(one of our wedding colors).

He was asleep when I went downstairs and picked them up so I brought them into our room when I got back and he woke up and said "Carnations?! Why did they put carnations in there?" See I despise carnations and he knows that so he purposely picked out the arrangement online that didn't have roses or carnations in it (pretty hard to do on Vday) and low and behold there were 3 dark pink carnations in the bouquet....oh well I still loved them!!!

Instead of going out to dinner by ourselves Saturday night we met his brother and sister in law and their 3 kids for sushi. They had come up from Annapolis to stay the night at a hotel in Baltimore. Steve, Zach's brother, said they were getting stir crazy staying in the house because of all the snow. Dinner was great and then the kids wanted to come over to our apartment and play with Mos so they came back with Zach and I....and ended up spending the night! Not exactly romantic but we gave their parents and unexpected night alone and they are great kids so we had fun playing with Mos and Wii Super Mario Brothers and Guitar Hero.

Hana, Cole and Bentley....and me on the computer!

Bentley and Hana rockin' out...

Mos was pooped!

Sunday Steve and Young came over and we all had breakfast and then they headed back to Annapolis. Zach and I left to go pick up our wedding invitations!!!! I was super excited to see them and feel in love instantly!!! They are everything I thought they would be and more! Now I can't wait to get them addressed and sent out! Last night was spent watching the Olympics! I really love the Olympics and it is the best form of reality TV....all the personal stories are great and even though the winter events aren't my favorite I find myself watching every night.

I also got some great news today....Kleinfelds called and MY DRESS IS IN!!!!! I wasn't expecting it in for another month but it's here! I have to make my fitting appointment and I am so excited to see it again and try it on.

5 more weeks of medical school!!

Again?!

We are getting dumped on again here on the East Coast! It started last night and there are blizzard warnings all day today. Luckily since I'm doing an elective for school it is not necessary for me to be at the hospital so my attending told me to stay home! Woo Hoo...don't have to ask me twice! And Zach was on call last night so he is home today with me! Granted right now he is passed out on the couch with Mos but it is always nice to get a bonus day together!

In non snow related news....I'm headed to Vegas next weekend! One of my great friends from medical school is having a shared bachelor/bachelorette party and a bunch of us are headed out! I can't wait....it is going to be a reunion with my great girlfriends from school! We haven't all been together since last April when Britt and Ryan had Harper.

I've also only got 6 weeks left of medical school and 3 months until the wedding...and Italy!! And 6 weeks until we find out where we will be living! Exciting times in our life!

Oh by the way....

I only have 6 weeks left of medical school and then you can slap an MD behind my name!!!!

2 Feet?!

That is us in the dark purple where it says 12'+!

Well we are bracing for the huge nor'easter that is supposed to hit the DC/Baltimore area pretty hard today, tonight and tomorrow. It started snowing around 1pm this afternoon but the ground was still warm so it didn't start sticking until about an hour ago. And it's supposed to get worse through the night. I love a big snowstorm especially when I don't have any plans and I can snuggle up on the couch with a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate and all my DVR'd shows! Unfortunately Zach is on call tonight at the hospital but luckily we only live 4 blocks from it so he can walk home in the morning and won't be out driving in it!

Tomorrow hopefully I'll take some pictures to post of Mos in the snow...he loves it!
